The guy allegedly attacked his exwife in the parking lot of the boyfriend’s apartment, dragged her at gunpoint to the apartment, duct-taped the boyfriend at gunpoint and ***** the exwife. Then he abducted her to MO and proceeded with a 10-hour standoff.

He was upset about being charged with forcible ****** against a child, and took it out on his ex and her boyfriend.

There was a MISTRIAL declared in May of this year. I have not found ANY additional news. Can someone update me on this? I LIVED in the same apartment building as the victim’s boyfriend, had seen the accused hanging around our building on other occasions. The guy gave me the creeps, and I want to know if justice was done.
Cheesy; I saw that first link before. That is actually a DIFFERENT Joshua Maudlin in a different state who put his child in a microwave. Equally bad, but a different guy.
In may, the case went to trial, and was declared a mistrial…
I was the only person who worried about hearing the screams in my apartment building. (stupid me, I even went to knock on the door to help! Nobody answered obviously) It was pretty creepy that everybody else chose to ignore it, and it bugs me to know how bad it really was, and how much worse it could have been.

OLATHE, Kan. — A man accused in the abduction and slaying of Overland Park teenager Kelsey Smith is described by his neighbors as an average guy.

Edwin R. Hall, 26, is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping.

Smith disappeared June 2 after shopping for a gift at Target near 97th Street and Quivira Road. The store’s surveillance video shows someone running up behind Smith in the parking lot after she put her bag in her car.

Searchers, using the last pinpointed signal from Smith’s cell phone, found her body in a wooded area near Longview Lake on Wednesday afternoon. Police said a tip from the public led to the arrest of Hall. Police said Hall was questioned on Wednesday afternoon and was arrested a few hours later.

Should this piece of offal be allowed to rot in prison and use endless lawyers to appeal his case? Or should he be put to death immediatley after a short trial where the overwhelming evidence will prove him guilty?

The death sentence has not been a deterrant against rapists and murderers, it is more used against illegal aliens and minorities.
